Miscellaneous
These are a few assorted SMART Notebook files you can download. Some of these are simple files - including some notation graphics that you can use in your own. The first files, "18 PreK and K Musical Activities", "Sounds Go Up, Sounds Go Down", and  "Bought Me a Cat" have been invaluable for the very young. "I Bought Me a Cat" is a favorite of my students.

The following files address the concept of rhythmic notation. "Rhythm Descriptions" tests students' recognition of notation symbols and rests using interactive games and drill exercises. The "Rhythm Maker" file contains music notation graphics that you can use in your own music files, or you can enter them into your own Notebook gallery. My file,  "Music Pizza Fractions", uses the pie concept for students to put varying "slices" of notation into a pie pan to complete a virtual 4-beat pattern "pizza".

This particular file includes examples and files that support early recorder lessons. I personally use portions to supplement what I typically use - not the entire lesson.

The following lessons have been written by me and are directed towards specific notable dates: February's "Black History Month" and the "Messenger Song" for Valentine's Day. The Black History Month file has music and a video imbedded in it. The "Messenger Song" has clips of the song from the music textbook, Share the Music imbedded in it with very simple melodic direction and So Mi La recognition pages. It isn't very long. The final file, "One Fish Two Fish" is perfect for March's Dr. Suess's Birthday: Read Across America". It includes portions of the book, a video of famous authors reading the book, and a simple notation activity at the end. All files are for educational use only - not for resale or distribution.
